The shared services function is integral to the success of today’s largest businesses. Recent data collected by Consero Group indicate that most Shared Services executives have achieved tangible cost reductions for their companies in areas such as finance, human resources, information technology, legal, and procurement. And as a result, companies generally seem to be doubling down on shared services—investing more resources in staff and budget to leverage this function further. However, with a limited talent pool for recruitment and other challenges, the experience of shared services executives is not likely to be an easy one in the near future.
This survey was developed and distributed in connection with an invitation-only event hosted by Consero Group in February 2014 for Shared Services executives from Fortune 1000 companies. While the survey was limited to 58 participants, the answers provide valuable insight into the perspective and concerns of this group of senior corporate executives.
